Day by day
A representative plan. Every trip is adjusted to your dates, your pace and what you want to see.
1
Day 1
Marrakech arrival
Arrive in Marrakech and settle into a riad in the medina. Get your bearings with a quiet walk near Jemaa el-Fna and the Koutoubia.
2
Day 2
Explore Marrakech
Take a full day to explore Marrakech at an easy pace. Visit the Bahia Palace, the souks or the Majorelle area with time for a break.
3
Day 3
Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou
Cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass. The drive is about three and a half hours to the ksar of Ait Benhaddou, where you stay overnight.
4
Day 4
Ait Benhaddou to the Dades Valley
Drive through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley. About two hours of driving, with short stops along the way.
5
Day 5
Dades Valley to Merzouga
A longer driving day of about four to five hours to Merzouga. Swap to a 4x4 for the last stretch into the Erg Chebbi dunes and your desert camp.
6
Day 6
Merzouga to Midelt
Leave the dunes early for a long northbound drive. Break it up by stopping overnight in Midelt, a practical halfway point between the desert and Fes.
7
Day 7
Midelt to Fes
Finish the drive to Fes, arriving in the late afternoon. Settle in and take a first look around the edge of the car-free medina.
8
Day 8
Explore Fes
A full day in Fes with a local guide. Focus on the tanneries, madrasas, artisan quarters and the largest car-free medina in Morocco.
9
Day 9
Fes to Chefchaouen
About four hours north to Chefchaouen in the Rif. Walk the blue lanes at an easy pace and enjoy the quiet evening.
10
Day 10
