Route
You set the stops. Give us the parts of Morocco that matter to you and we will build the route around them.
Highlights
- Fully private — no fixed departure, no group schedule
- Your list decides the route
- Paced from the riad, not from a coach
- For travellers who would rather see a few things properly than many badly
Day by day
A representative plan. Every trip is adjusted to your dates, your pace and what you want to see.
1
Day 1
Arrival in Marrakech
Your driver meets you at the airport and takes you into the medina. Day one stays light: bags down, a walk to Jemaa el-Fna, dinner on the square.
This plan is one example rather than a fixed departure. Tell us which parts of Morocco matter to you and the days get rebuilt around that.
2
Day 2
A full day in Marrakech
A day on foot: the Koutoubia, the souks north of Jemaa el-Fna and lunch somewhere off the main lanes. Your driver is off today, so the walking runs on your schedule.
If a hammam or a cooking class fits better, it goes here. Days in a city are the easiest ones to move.
3
Day 3
Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou
About three and a half hours over the Tizi n'Tichka pass and down into the south, with a stop at the top of the pass. After that it is valley road and scattered villages.
Afternoon is the ksar at Ait Benhaddou, mud brick above the river, walked before dinner. You sleep nearby and can go back up in the morning if you want to.
4
Day 4
Ait Benhaddou to the Dades Valley
About three hours east: Ouarzazate, then the valley of a thousand kasbahs to Boumalne Dades. The afternoon drive above the gorges is short and worth doing twice.
A deliberately light day. The long stretches come on the desert days.
5
Day 5
Dades to the Sahara
Morning at Todra Gorge, an hour away, then about four hours south-west to Erg Chebbi. Arrive mid-afternoon and take a camel out to the camp for the sun going down.
Sleep on the dunes tonight. This is the longest single day on the example plan, at about five hours.
6
Day 6
Merzouga to Midelt
Sunrise first, then breakfast and the road north. About four hours through Errachidia and along the Ziz valley to Midelt, a small town that exists to break this drive in two.
The landscape changes from sand to orchards and irrigation channels. You sleep in Midelt and the desert is behind you.
7
Day 7
Midelt to Fes
About three hours through Ifrane and the cedar forest at Azrou, then down onto the Saiss plain. Fes is reached around lunchtime.
Your riad is inside the car-free medina, so the car stops at the gate. The afternoon is free for a first walk.
8
Day 8
A full day in Fes
The largest car-free medina in the country, and the stop on this plan that works best with a guide. Tanneries, madrasas and the workshops that still supply the city.
The second half of the day is yours. Stay with the guide, or double back to the lanes you liked.
9
Day 9
Fes to Chefchaouen
About four hours north into the Rif, where the walls turn blue. Chefchaouen is small and built on a slope, so an afternoon covers the kasbah square and the lanes above it.
You sleep inside the old town, and the lanes empty out after dark.
10
Day 10
Chefchaouen to Tangier
About two hours west to Tangier, with time for a coffee stop before the airport if the flight is in the evening.
This is one shape of ten days. The same trip can finish in Casablanca or Marrakech instead, and the middle days move according to your list.
Good to know
How the route is set
You send us a list: the desert, the coast, the medinas, whatever matters most. We build the ten days around it and send the plan back for changes before anything is booked.
Pace and driving
On this example two days are walking only, and the longest single day is Dades to the Sahara at about five hours. Nothing on it runs longer than that.

Agafay Desert
A dry, rocky desert close to Marrakech, with no dunes — bare hills, open horizons and camps laid out for dinner after dark. The short transfer is the point: one night either side of a city week.

Merzouga
The road south ends at Erg Chebbi, the tall dunes people picture when they picture the Sahara. You take a 4x4 for the last stretch to camp and get the hour before sunrise while the sand is still cold.

Erg Chigaga
Chigaga is the one you take for distance rather than scenery. The dunes run wide, the camps sit far apart and the track in is quiet. It needs a proper day of driving, so it belongs inside a longer route.
